The Moustache Ride Experience
There’s no denying that eBikes are heavier than regular bikes, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing (for more information on bike weight click here). With clever design however the Moustache Ride Experience achieves a superior ride feel to ‘regular’ bikes.
The Moustache Ride Experience is achieved through a number of features, but there are four main principals:
1. Fit for purpose geometry
The smallest details have the biggest impact. Therefore, Moustache have laboured over the geometry of every bike in their line up. Bikes like the Xroad and Xroad FS feature an upright, comfortable geometry that’s perfect for urban riding and off-road touring. 2. Intelligent weight distribution
A heavier bike isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and if the weight is in the right place the bike’s handling can be improved. For this reason Moustache engineer their bikes to keep the weight low and central. This allows for agile handling and incredible stability.
The placement of the battery within the frame creates an incredibly stiff downtube, resulting in a direct ride feel with every watt propelling you further. Moustache weren’t satisfied with the standard battery and motor connection, so they reengineered the whole system so that there is only 1.5mm between motor and battery for the lowest possible centre of gravity!

3. Triple Cavity Tubing on open frames
Whilst there are plenty of eBikes out there without a top tube, none ride as well as Moustache’s open framed models. Other bikes with open frames have a flexy feeling through the pedal stroke, and can lose stability as you gain speed.
Aboard an open framed Moustache this isn’t an issue due to their proprietary Triple Cavity Tubing. What the Triple Cavity Tubing entails is two reinforced sections along the downtube to increase the overall stiffness. The Triple Cavity Tubing drastically increases stiffness under pedalling, and keeps the bike tracking straight no matter the speed.
Adding to the superior nature of Moustache frames is the aluminium used to make them. Moustache share an aluminium supplier with the likes of Apple, and the aluminium is provided by a company with their own smelter to ensure the material is the highest grade aircraft aluminium.
